Description
Our banana leaves are carefully hand-harvested by farmers from small Afro-Colombian communities in southern Valle del Cauca, sourced from sustainable farms within the Colombian Chocó biogeographical region—one of the world’s most important biodiversity hotspots and natural home to iconic poison dart frogs such as species of Oophaga, Andinobates, and Phyllobates.
Because these farms operate without pesticides, we can confidently guarantee that our leaves are free from harmful chemical residues—making them safe for even the most sensitive amphibians.
Why Choose Tesoros Banana Leaf Litter?
- 100% pesticide-free
- Helps reduce the risk of skin injuries and infections in amphibians
- Ideal for bioactive terrariums
- Enhances the natural look of Neotropical frog biotopes
- Supports sustainable farming communities in Colombia
These are the exact same leaves we use in our own breeding and conservation facilities at Tesoros. Trusted in our habitats, recommended for yours.

Upgrade your habitat with a substrate that is natural, functional, and conservation-driven.
