This vibrant species is endemic to Colombia and thrives exclusively in the cloud forests of the Andes Mountains at elevations of up to 2,400 meters (7,875 feet) above sea level. Adults reach a maximum size of approximately ¾ inch and deposit their tadpoles in small water-filled reservoirs, such as bromeliads found throughout the forest.
In response to the increasing threats facing its habitat, we work closely with Colombian authorities to implement conservation measures that help ensure the survival of this species and protect it from extinction through active habitat management and restoration initiatives.
